Your Guide To Cyprus Travel

Cyprus seems to be this year’s hot-spot.  Here is your guide to Cyprus Travel to make your journey an easy one.

Getting There:

The easiest way to get there is definitely by plane. The main airport is Larnaca International Airport (LCA).  You can also reach Cyprus by ferry occasionally from Greece, Syria, Lebanon, and Rhodes. There are also freighter boats that you can take from Southampton, Portugal, and Italy.  The easiest place to get there by ferry is from Turkey and they have the most regular ferry service schedule.

Once you are in Cyprus, it is possible to get around by their bus system, but the easiest way is to get around by renting a car.

Where To Stay:

I recommend booking your trip with First Choice.  First choice offers all-inclusive holiday to Cyprus that will make planning your trip there an easy one. They have a nice choice of places to stay at in both the Larnaca and Paphos regions.

What To Do:

1. Explore the beaches.

The Paphos region is especially known for its great beaches. Cyprus has one of the widest selections of beaches available from party beaches, to family beaches, to empty get-away-from-it-all beaches.

2. Hike the mountains.

The beautiful Troodos mountains have awesome trails for hiking and cute villages for you to meander through.  There are also four ski slopes for you to ski on these mountains during winter.

3. Diving

The Larnaca region is known for the Wreck of the Zenobia.  This was a Swedish ferry that sunk in 1980.  People say that it’s the best wreck diving destination in Europe.

4.  Eat.

Cyprus is known for its wonderful food, and is something you should definitely explore. Your Cyprus travel won’t be complete until you try the souvlakia of pork and chicken, the halloumi cheese, the wonderful seafood, and the amazing tirokafteri, a spicy, hot cheese dip.  Also make sure to try the cypriot wine which is a lot like porto wine.
